How It Works
The sun-kissed glow, without a single UV ray. Sundipt gives you natural, buildable color that develops on your own skin — here's exactly how it works, and how to get the most flawless, longest-lasting glow every time.
The science, simply
Every Sundipt formula is powered by DHA (dihydroxyacetone), a cosmetic color-additive derived from plant sugars. When it meets the outermost layer of your skin, it gently reacts to deepen your natural tone over a few hours — the same warm color you'd get from the sun, minus the damage. It's a true cosmetic tan: it sits in the surface skin cells and fades naturally as they renew, usually over about 4–5 days.
Step 1 — Prep (the secret to a flawless finish)
Exfoliate about 24 hours before you tan using the Tan Prep Mitt. Buffing away dead skin gives your color a smooth, even canvas — no dark patches on knees, ankles, elbows, or knuckles. Skip this step and you'll see exactly why it matters. Make sure skin is clean, dry, and moisturizer-free right before you apply.
Step 2 — Apply
- Self-Tan Drops (face + body): Mix 2–4 drops into your favourite moisturizer, smooth on evenly, then wash your hands. 2 drops = a subtle glow, 4+ = a deeper bronze. You're in full control of the depth.
- Gradual Tan Mousse (body): Apply an even layer with a mitt, let it develop, then rinse. Build it over a few days until you hit your perfect shade.
- Glow Oil (instant): A sheer, shimmer-kissed oil for an instant lit-from-within glow that rinses off whenever you like — perfect for legs-out, dress-on nights.
Step 3 — Develop & wake up glowing
Sleep on it. Your tan develops overnight, and you wake up with a natural, even glow. Reapply the drops or mousse nightly to deepen your color, and moisturize daily to keep everything looking fresh and seamless.
Make your glow last
Moisturize morning and night, avoid long hot soaks, and pat (don't rub) dry after showering. When it's time to reset, simply buff it off evenly with the Tan Prep Mitt and start fresh.
Common questions
Will it turn me orange? No — Sundipt develops as a natural golden tone, and you decide the depth with the number of drops or layers you apply.
What causes streaks? Almost always prep. Exfoliate first and apply evenly with a mitt and you'll stay streak-free.
Is it safe, vegan, and cruelty-free? Yes — cosmetic-grade, vegan, and never tested on animals.
Does it protect me from the sun? No. A cosmetic tan gives you color, not SPF — always keep wearing sunscreen.
